September 1, 2008 Seattle Hempfest Seattle Hempfest is an awesome event for the whole family! Held on the third weekend of every August at Myrtle Edwards Park, Seattle Hempfest is the world's largest pot protestival typically drawing over 100,000 attendees over a two-day period. This website is full of all sorts of information, including pictures and video to help recreate the fest for those who couldn't make it. It takes all sorts of people to keep Seattle Hempfest going. This event takes over a thousand volunteers for its operations; hundreds of vendors to rent booths to sell their wares; dozens of sponsors to buy hot exposure on their three stages and the event program. If you're tired of people going to jail for pot, Seattle Hempfest is a good starting point for educating yourself and getting involved with the movement. It is about a lot more than smoking pot, and that is why I choose it for this site's inaugural "cool webpage of the week!" —Rodney Lewis
